In 1985 the Easyway seminar was adapted into book form and that book, Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking, has sold over 12m copies. It has been translated into over 30 languages and has been a #1 bestseller in nine countries.

Comedienne Ellen DeGeneres said “Everyone who reads this book quits smoking and I quit.” Music legend Lou Reed says: “Someone gave me the book years ago when I was trying to quit and I found it very useful. It’s a great book.”

Here is a typical reader review:

Patrick M. Kiss, an ad agency exec in NY, March 16, 2005

Thank you Allen Carr

After years of trying to quit using every other method under the sun this book jumped off the shelf at me in November 2004. I read it in a weekend and haven't wanted to smoke since. This book should be compulsory reading for smokers. I realise that might sound a little like big brother but I truly believe that most smokers do want to quit, and that the only thing that prevents them is fear. Carr removes that fear in this book. This incredibly easy and empowering approach to quitting gave me back my freedom. I would recommend the Carr method to any smoker. My mom and two of my brothers attended his clinic in NY and quit easily too. ”
