I was a committed half-pack a day smoker who started at 14, and stopped a number of times in my life for various reasons: being a broke university student, being a fitness instructor, living with a professional athlete boyfriend… only to start again. Approaching 40, an insulin-dependent diabetic since my mid-20s, I knew it was time to resolve this once and for all. It worked. And the difference is that my mind reacts to smokers and cigarettes not like an ex-smoker but like a non-smoker! It doesn’t phase me to be around someone smoking. I’m finally free.
